!Hubzilla Support Forum
I guess this has been raised number of times so excuse me i do it again (the search feature in the help forum is not helping).
After very long delay we have updated our hub to version 3.8. It's very disapointing to see that the pre-defined settings we have setup for all new commers are now partially working. For example public stream is disabled by default etc. What is strange is that activitypub is enabled by default.
Could someone fill me in on where those settings are set? pconfig seems to not store info on which apps are installed per user, and there is no clear information what would need to be set in
to keep the apps/addons/plugins we would like every user to have enabled by default.
We know about defaultapp but this is not really something we want want upon close inspection and tests. Defaultapp not only requires user to go to
page but also if user decides to disable one of the default apps, upon revisitng
those will be re-enabled. Until version 3.6 we could make the onboarding easier for newbies as they had most of the settings to get going predefined. At this moment, we need all users to go through the settings themselfs. As much as the new aproach to settings was suppose to declutter, and make the usage easier, it creates a barrier most of the users won't go through.
Is there a way to pre-define
apps per user without the need to use defaultapps? Also I noticed some of the apps that current users had enabled, because of the update need to be
on per user basis again.
