Hi everyone, I am just curious about what everyone thinks about the sustainability of libre hosting collectives and communities like Disroot.
Is there a point, from a management standpoint, that Disroot could become too big? Apart from the scalability of services, would the size of the Disroot community affect its ability to function as a community?
Disroot is a non-profit organization, and an intimately human organization by comparison. Is there a point where the organization could grow too large and involve too many interests that it would not be sustainable as a real grassroots community? Is there a point where it could evolve into a different animal altogether---for better or for worse?
I know that we have the immediate goal for the core team to make Disroot their full-time occupation, which I think is great. You guys are very inspiring, and deserve it. Plus, that freedom for you would benefit the entire project. It makes me wonder what kinds of goals, dreams, and concerns beyond that folks might have.
As the project evolves, how can we, as a community, ensure that we remain a community?
Sorry if my questions are kind of speculative. I'm just interested to hear everyone's thoughts =] Thanks!
